Painted Turtles inhabit northern Mexico, southern Canada, and can be found all the way across the USA. They have olive or black carapaces, the scutes being lined in green, yellow or red. Marginal scutes feature red crescents or bars, and this is true of all Painted Turtles. Neck and limbs have red or yellow stripes. Painted Turtles are 4-10 inches in length.
